The airgunners monument, designed by Pieter Jellema, stands in front of the Town Hall. The propeller is a component of the Lancaster Bomber ED357 of the 12th Squadron. This aircraft was stationed on RAF Base Wickenby.
The natural stone plates on the ground show the contours of Eastern en Southern Flevoland and the council of Dronten.
On the 4th of May in the evening and on the 5th of May a flame is burning.
The monument was set up and unveiled in 1965 in memory of all the allied aircrew killed. From that year on, the annual Rembrance Day celebration has taken place near this monument on May 4.
